Halfsaid

Your GDPR rights

Last updated August 31, 2026

Who is responsible

The data controller for Halfsaid is the operator of this deployment, reachable at hello@halfsaid.co. This page covers the rights of people in the EU and EEA under the General Data Protection Regulation, and the equivalent rights under the UK GDPR.

Why we may process this data at all

Information about your relationship and emotional life falls under Article 9 of the GDPR as special category data, which carries the strictest rules the regulation has. Our lawful basis for processing it is your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), given when you create an account, connect a relationship, and choose what to share. Account and security data is processed to perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)) and to keep the service secure (Article 6(1)(f)).

Consent here is not a checkbox you clicked once. You can narrow it, pause it, or withdraw it at any time from Settings or by telling your AI assistant, and withdrawal takes effect on the next request the service handles.

What you can ask of us

Access: see everything we hold about you. Most of it is already visible in the app, and you can request a complete copy. Rectification: correct anything wrong. Erasure: have your account and content deleted. Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format. Restriction and objection: limit how we process your data while a dispute is resolved. None of these cost anything, and we answer within a month.

One honest limit: your partner’s own words about their own life belong to them, even when they mention you. Erasing your account removes your material and your side of the shared record; it does not reach into theirs.

Where the data goes

Our infrastructure providers may store data in the United States. Transfers are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, which our providers (Neon and Vercel) include in their data-processing agreements.

Automated decisions

Halfsaid makes no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. The consent rules that decide whether something crosses to your partner follow settings you chose, and you can read the reason for every decision in your consent log.

If you're not satisfied

Write to hello@halfsaid.co first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to your national supervisory authority; the European Data Protection Board keeps the list at edpb.europa.eu. Our Privacy Policy has the full picture of what we collect and why.
